To my shame, I noticed that I have not written anything for quite some time. I provided a brief note at the beginning of the pandemic that was fairly consistent with notes that everyone was posting. Something about supply chain problems, uncertainty, and generalized anxiety. I deleted these as most of these issues have become accepted as the new normal and about as helpful as the surgeon generals disclaimer on tobacco products. What the pandemic has taught me is the increased need to better communicate. Supply chain problems and unpredictable pricing have been the chief nemesis but these can largely be navigated with frequent conversations and setting realistic expectations. It's much harder these days to give a firm price on a project months before starting, often I have to give an estimated range and follow up before starting with a firm price once the materials can be purchased. Other changes in life/business have nothing to do with the pandemic and everything to do with family. Our children seem to be growing up far faster than we wish and time with our children has taken an increased priority. My wife, Kaitlyn, has gone back to school over the pandemic and has since graduated and is now working as a nurse at UK. I have slowed down and trimmed down the sizes of projects I am taking on so that I can help her homeschool our children and remodel our house. During the time that she was in school it was essential that I worked year round to provide enough income, with her working I am able to now pull back in the coldest and hottest months. We are also excited to announce that we are expecting our forth child, Kaitlyn is due on May 16th and we are expecting a boy. With the current pace of life, I intend to not bid or take on any 'large' projects until after the baby is born and life has returned to a new normal. I am anticipating on resuming fence installs in July 2022. In the meantime, I am interested in doing smaller fence repairs and projects that could be completed in one or two days, such as gate installs and installing short fence segments. If you have a small fence project or repair, please consider reaching out via email or my contact form so we can start the conversation. Its difficult for me to answer my phone as I frequently have to find a time to hide from our children so I can complete sentence without frequent interruption. If you prefer a phone call, just email me and let me know and we can find a time to schedule a call. I greatly appreciate the business and support that so many have given and even with the unpredictability of life, it remains a beautiful journey.
