Philip Sallee grew up in a large family in rural Bourbon county on 50 acres of land. Being home schooled his entire life, he spent a great deal of time outdoors playing and working with his hands. He became involved with emergency services at age 16 with the local volunteer fire department, earned his EMT certification at age 18 and then attended Eastern Kentucky University where he trained to be a Paramedic, obtained a degree in Emergency Management and met his wife Kaitlyn.
Ten years later, Philip and Kaitlyn now have four energetic children that they homeschool and enjoy spending free time exploring, gardening and hiking. Philip started 'The Fence Medic' during this time as a source of extra income after a good friend, Mike Watkins, owner of The Fence Guy of Louisville, helped Philip build a picket fence to surround his home. As the reputation grew for doing quality work so did the demand increase and in 2018, Philip transitioned into running The 'Fence Medic' full time.
The Fence Medic primarily repairs wood fences and gates but will also install new fences and enjoys the occasional challenge of designing and building unique fences and garden structures. The Fence Medic does not believe in producing "assembly-line" fences, each fence is built with attention to detail and constructed one board at a time with emphasis on blending the fence into the layout of the yard and terrain.
The Fence Medic is insured and takes care of compliance with local permits and regulations. While we are not perfect, we strive to create a simple, no pressure sales process to give you the information you need to make a decision about your project. Philip often spends the majority of his time working or with his family and thus can be difficult to reach by phone. The best way to contact the Fence Medic is by email or the contact form located here. Phone calls are also welcome, just leave a voicemail if we are unable to answer and let us know when we should attempt calling you back.
