For locations not dependent on privacy or security, the picket fence can provide a classic and attractive option to keep children and pets contained while also clearly defining boundaries. Picket fences are typically 4' tall and are constructed with treated post set in concrete to a depth of 24" and have two cross members that the pickets are then attached to. The pickets are commonly treated pine or cedar and come in "Dog-ear" style, "Gothic" style and "French Gothic" style.
