2022 has been a busy year so far. We welcomed the arrival of Shepherd Clay in May, the months preceding we were busy remodeling our kitchen and largely put the Fence Medic on standby until after the kitchen was in a good place and after Shepherd's arrival.
Shepherd has been doing great and is over two months old now. He is truly a bundle of joy and has been the easiest of all the kids, so far. Kaitlyn had to return to work which leaves me home with all four kids for 3-4 days every week.
Life at home moves at a slow pace but the days truly fly by. We are still homeschooling and enjoying our quarter of an acre homestead that makes up the backyard. We have truly out grown our home and our eyes are ever open for a few acres of land and either remodeling an older home or building a new one ourselves.
Our kitchen project has been quite the undertaking but we have done 90% of the work ourselves and learned a lot along the way. Thankful for Youtube and skilled craftsmen in the family for guidance along the way. I look forward to posting pictures of the kitchen once its completely finished, we only have some painting and tile work left, the days of washing dishes in the bathtub are thankfully over.
With Kaitlyn's busy schedule at the hospital, my schedule is limited to only one or two days each week for me to be a Fence Medic. I have stopped scheduling fence installs and instead only focus on repair work and small projects such as building gates. I am really enjoying the change of pace. I am having to interact with far more people than I am used to due to the increased volume of small projects but this bodes well with being a part time 'Stay at Home dad'. I am typically able to keep my schedule full for about two weeks out and respond to emails and do book keeping tasks quickly at home.
That about covers the current state of affairs for the Fence Medic and Family. Life is a wonderful adventure and hope that you also are enjoying the ride.
